Lonitseera
Lonitseera unites satirical snickering with lyrical sincerity. Kaisa Kuslapuu, the band’s artistic lead, considers her main ifluences to be the unmoving pile of gravel in front of her childhood home, and growing up surrounded by Estonian pop music. People have attempted to describe Lonitseera’s musical style, including fans and even members of the band, with little success. Thus, phrases like “dramatic indie-jazz-pop”, “sharp humor and good bass” or “it’s pretty sing-alongable” will have to suffice. Lonitseera’s debut record “Tapeet” (2022) was well-received by fans and critics alike and earned the band the 2023 Estonian Music Award in the singer-songwriter category.
“I don’t think there’s another band as brilliant as Lonitseera in Estonia at the moment and with this record alone, they have reserved their spot in Estonia’s musical canon.”
